Special tools are used to address some of the technical issues in the pipelines. For example measurement, cleaning, or separation. One of the widely-used tools for this kind of processing is the “Pipelines Inspection Gauge (PIG) of pipelines it is a tool that is used inside the pipelines and is propelled by pressing the passing product inside of pipelines itself. There are four main uses of these tools: 1. Physical separation between different liquids are transported inside pipelines 2. Internal cleaning procedure for pipelines 3. Check the status of the pipelines walls (known as Inline Inspection (ILI) tool) 4. Capture and record geometric and technical information related to pipelines (such as size, location, etc.).
